Gotta Show Your Picture to Vote!

The Atlanta Journal Constitution led today with the story that a local judge struck down a motion by the Democratic Party in Georgia, to rule as “unconstitutional” a law that requires a picture ID to vote.
The Dems say it places a hardship on disabled or poor voters. How can that be?
I’m disabled, yet I still [...]

Still finding ballots in Minnesota

Well  here’s an article out today on 171 Lost ballots in Minnesota http://www.startribune.com/ There are several major problems with this issue.  a. When the number of ballots issued and the number of ballots feed thru the machine did not balance.  Why did they close down the precinct for the night?  There’s a report that the machine generates and checking it against the totals is basic election day procedure. b.  How in the world can you have 31 more ballots with votes then what’s on your

Newly-Discovered Ballots Boost Franken

Newly-Discovered Ballots Boost Franken Share Post Print December 2, 2008 Posted by John at 2:43 PM Earlier today, a precinct in Maplewood, a St. Paul suburb, discovered 171 ballots that had not previously been counted. Apparently the precinct started using one electronic machine, which malfunctioned after 171 ballots had been cast. The precinct switched to another machine, but until now, it appears that no one remembered to pull the 171 ballots out of the original machine and count them.

Road To 60: Coleman Lead Down To 50? UPDATE Franken Gains 37 More

Throughout the Minnesota Senate recount, as the absurd number of challenged ballots by both campaigns continues to obscure the real recount tally, the Al Franken campaign has made a point of releasing their own count of the ballots -- taking into account the opinions of election observers -- on press briefing conference calls. Per TPM, at the start of business yesterday that tally had Coleman up by 73 votes; by the end of business yesterday, that lead had shrunk to 50. We won't know the actua

Election turnouts set state records in Idaho, Washington

Idaho and Washington both set records for the number of voters going to the poll on Election Day 2008. In Idaho, just more than 667,000 voters cast ballots, out of a total 862,000 registered voters - including 116,000 who registered the day of the election. The 77.5 percent turnout was the second-highest in at least [...]

Counts are official: Calvert wins

Rep. Ken Calvert, who led district-wide throughout the final counting of the absentee and provisional ballots is now officially the winner of the 44th Congressional District election, based on the complete counts from Riverside and Orange counties. Calvert, R-Corona, beat his Democratic rival Bill Hedrick by 6,047 votes. And as I’ve noted before, the incumbent has Orange County to thank for his victory. Here’s the breakdown: Calvert got 94,483 in his home county of Riverside while Hedrick, al

Ballots found; conservative freakout in 3…2…1…

If you hear a bone-rending screeching sound, it’s just the conservative blogosphere revving up to respond to this: Ramsey County finds 171 uncounted ballots The county’s Elections Manager Joe Mansky says an optical scan vote counting machine broke down in Maplewood during the initial count. It was replaced, but local election judges didn’t run some of the ballots through the new machine. As David Brauer notes: Election-night returns indicate that precinct gave Franken 45 percent of its

Ramsey County Update:

With "one" city left to count in Ramsey county... so far Al Franken's most favorable county in terms of findng new votes... it is being reported that this one city (Maplewood) is now claiming to have "found" 171 new ballots that were not counted on election day. Now this should not be confused with another county who had "known" ahead of time that their original numbers did not include 30 some ballots that had not been counted... this is something that was supposedly "just found" today... 4 w

Nov. 4 election sees record O.C. turnout, with an asterisk

All the ballots have been counted and the final tally shows that more Orange County residents voted Nov. 4 than ever before. However, the percentage of registered voters casting ballots was about the same as in the two previous presidential general elections. In short, population growth means more voters. Mail ballots easily accounted for a record percentage for a general election, with 45 percent of voters using that approach. A total of 1,167,989 ballots were tallied in Orange County, surpa

"Miracle" Ballots Found In Minnesota

Here we go again, 171 "miracle" ballots were found today by the Minnesota recount officials. Just like the 100 "miracle" ballots that were found during the initial count, these ballots were found in a heavily Democratic County. Ramsey county where the ballots were found went 52% For Franken (vs 34% Coleman) and 54% Obama. I don't know if the miracle is that they find the ballots, or that they ONLY find the ballots in Democratic Party counties. With George Soros responsible for the Minnesota Secr
