A President Like My Father!
Probably one of the most stunning after-effects of the BIG Barack Obama win in the South Carolina Primary, didn’t come out of South Carolina, but from an entirely different, and mostly unexpected, corner.
Carolyn Kennedy, daughter of the late-President John F. Kennedy has been pretty close-mouthed about her preferences for a Presidential candidate in the 2008 Campaign. But she gave a big boost to the Obama campaign when she endorsed his candidacy. Even more newsworthy, was the way she did it, by comparing Obama to her late father.
What she actually said, in so many words, is that Barack Obama inspires hope for the future and a revitalization of our national psyche like her father did in the 60s (I’m paraphrasing here) and that Obama is the only candidate that can do that. Pretty strong praise.
But, it bears mentioning here that pro-Hillary/Billary Clinton followers are already belly-aching that a woman as “rich and privileged” as Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, is completely out of touch with what the average citizen NEEDS from a candidate, and a sitting President in the White House.
Oh, my, do I detect dissension in the party? Could be! Could get worse!
